Welcome to Grade 4!

Dear Grade 4C Parents,

Welcome back to a new year at Saint Francis Xavier School.  I hope you all had a restful and enjoyable summer.  I would like to take this time to introduce myself.  My name is Sophie Chong and this is my third year in the CISVA and my first year teaching at Saint Francis Xavier School.  I grew up in Vancouver and graduated from the University of British Columbia. I completed my Bachelor of Education at the University of Calgary and since then, I have had the opportunity to teach internationally in France and Korea.  I have two brothers and I love dogs!  I am also a classically trained dancer and have a passion for hiking and being in the great outdoors.  It is going to be an exciting year and I look forward to working with both you and your children!

In order to be prepared for the Grade 4 year, students will need the following:

• School supplies as specified on the school supply list.

• Durable knapsack that is large enough to carry books and supplies and small enough to be carried by the student and hung on a hook.

• Complete SFX uniform.  Students are required to wear their full uniform for Mass on Friday.  All personal belongings and items of clothing should be clearly labelled (permanent marker or iron on labels) with your child’s full name.

• Durable gym bag with the SFX gym strip and running shoes.  Physical Education takes place on Tuesday and Thursday.

If you should have any questions, I would be happy to speak with you about them.  Please feel free to write a note in your child’s agenda, and we can arrange a time to meet.

Thank you!

Miss Chong
