I would like to thank Grade 6 and 7 parents and classroom teachers for supporting the author visit of Eric Wilson. I was not able to stay for his presentation, but I heard great feedback from staff and students! Hope it was enjoyable and inspiring.
Order forms to purchase Eric Wilson’s books (if desired) were handed out last Friday, November 24th. If you’d like to make an order, please submit the form to me by Wednesday, November 29th. We hope the books arrive before Christmas holidays!
RAL books arrived earlier than expected! This is great news for the students so that they can get started on the reading.
Students will receive their RAL novels tmrw, Thursday, November 23. If students finish reading their assigned novel before December, they will strongly be encouraged to read a 2nd novel. Order forms for the books will be handed out tmrw, for those who’d like a copy of their own.
I have already read a few, and will continue to read, setting a goal to read all 6 novels! 🙂
Readers, are Leaders.
If you’d like to order any of the titles for Readers are Leaders, please print this form and return to me by Friday, November 24th.

On Friday, November 24th, Eric Wilson, a Canadian author, will be coming to SFX to share his passion of reading and writing! He will be speaking to the Grade 6 and 7 classes in the afternoon.
Eric Wilson specializes in writing mystery novels that take place in different parts of Canada. Eric’s one- hour presentation will be interactive and full of content to engage students’ interest. We hope Eric’s visit captivates our students’ minds to read a variety of genre and to add another author in his or her literacy bank.
If you’d like to read more about this author, please click on his website! We look forward to his visit 🙂
Consent forms for Readers are Leaders will be given out this week to students in Grade Five and to a few students in Grade Four.

Dear SFX Families,
I hope you are all excited to be back to SFX after a lovely, relaxing summer. Summer vacation is a blessed opportunity for all of us to recharge and be energized for September!
After serving memorable years in the Grade Three classroom, I feel excited and nervous to be taking on new roles at our school community. I hope my passion and love for Children’s Literature can add another layer of motivation and growth to our students’ literacy.
I will be in the library three days a week, Monday to Wednesday teaching Kindergarten, Grades Two, Four and Six. On my other two days, Thursday and Friday, I will be in the KS classroom.
At necessary times of the year, I will continue to communicate via blog postings with library news and events.
Let’s have a wonder-ful year!
Miss Kim 😊
