PTA Hot Lunch & Concession

Just a reminder that tomorrow PTA hot lunch will be served to those that ordered.  The concession will be open for students to buy snacks.

Christmas Spirit Day

We are having a Christmas Spirit Day tomorrow.  Students are asked to wear Christmas colours to school.  Tomorrow is a PE day, so please make sure your child has his/her PE t-shirt and shorts under the Christmas clothes.

Christmas Concert

The Christmas concert will be held on Friday at 11:00am.  Grade One students are asked to wear Christmas colours for the performance.  Parents are welcome to come watch.  It will be a noon dismissal.  Students are to be picked up from the classroom, not the gym.

This past month, students have been working hard at learning my routines and expectations.  We have come a long way and the classroom is now feeling like my own.  Thank you parents for your patience.

Please note the following:

Snow Day

Snow is in the forecast for Thursday.  The PTA class rep will contact you if the school is closed.  Please do NOT call the school.  School closure will also be reported on local radio stations: AM980, AM1320 and AM1470.

Report Cards

Report cards will be distributed on Wednesday in case school is closed due to snow.  Please check your child’s backpack for it.  If you have any questions or concerns, we will discuss it at your scheduled parent-teacher interview.

Show and tell

I have created a new schedule for Show and tell.  Please check the schedule below for your child’s turn.  Your child may bring something interesting such as a favourite toy, book or photo.  You can help your child prepare for his/her turn by practicing at home.  Students are expected to speak loud and clear and share at least 3 things about the show and tell item.  Please make sure you know what your child is bringing and that it is appropriate to share with the class.

Lice

An email recently went out regarding a case of lice in 1D.  I urge all parents to follow the instructions in the email and take the time to check your child’s head.  Please be diligent with this to prevent further spread in the classroom.

Planners

Just wanted to remind parents to please check and initial the planner daily so I know you have checked it.  Also, please keep the front pocket clear of old notices, so I know you have received and read notices that were sent home.
