Book Fair Tomorrow

We will be having a one day religious book fair tomorrow.  Bibles, prayer books, books about God and Holy people, comic books, colouring books, stickers, posters and other things will be sold.  Each class will get some time to visit the book fair.  If you would like to preview the catalogue please click on the following link:

1D Class Mass

The school mass for this Friday has been cancelled as the priests will be away.  Arrangements will be made so that students with a mass part will get the opportunity to read their part in another mass.  More information will be posted when arrangements are finalized.

Speech Arts

Some parents returned the permission slip from the consent form sent out last week.  Just to clarify, the group presentation will take place at St. Francis Xavier school.  We will not need to leave the school to participate in the Archbishop Carney Speech Arts Festival.

Anti-Bully Day

Wednesday, February 22nd will be Anti-bully day.  Students are asked to wear a pink shirt to support Anti-bully day!  Since this is a PE day, please make sure your child brings his/her gym strip to change into.

Speech Arts Competition

Our class worked hard at practicing and preparing for the SFX Speech Arts competition.  We did our best and I am please to announce that 1D was one of the classes selected to represent St. Francis Xavier in the Archbishop Carney Speech Art Competition!  To celebrate, we had a popcorn and movie party today.  Please continue to practice with your child at home so we will be ready for the next portion of the competition on Tuesday, March 7th, 2017.

Class Mass

1D will be leading the school mass on Friday, February 24th, 2017.  If your child was selected to do a mass reading, please practice with him/her daily.  Parents are welcome to join us at mass.

Science World Field Trip

Parent chaperones were selected today.  Please check your child’s planner to see if you were selected.  Parents that were selected received a notice.  For future reference, if you would like to be selected as a chaperone, please make sure you already have a criminal record check completed and submitted to the office.

Valentine’s Day Treats

Happy Valentine’s Day!  Thank you to all the students and parents that took the time to prepare valentine’s treats for the class!  The students were excited to give and receive them!

SFX Speech Art Competition

We will be having our school Speech Arts Competition tomorrow.  The primary classes are scheduled to perform between 10:45am-12:00pm.  Parents are welcomed to come watch!  Please practice a few times with you child tonight and make sure they are ready for tomorrow.

Telus World of Science Field trip

Thank you to those of you that returned the consent form so quickly!  For those of you that still haven’t returned it, please do so by tomorrow.  Also, if you have a membership, please remember to submit it to me as soon as possible.  Parent volunteers will be selected and notified soon.  Thank you for your patience.

No School

Just a reminder that teachers will be at the Catholic Educator’s Conference on Thursday, February 9th and Friday, February 10th.  Also, Family day is on Monday, February 13th.  There will be no school on those days.
