wear PE strip
waterproof jacket if raining, no umbrellas
wear shoes that are comfy and students can walk in for 2 laps if neighbourhood

Math- students wrote a quiz on subtraction today, the purpose of the quiz was to see where students are and what they need to study on, some were nervous how parents would react so please remind them this is to see what they need to focus studying this weekend.

Test on addition and subtraction will be Tuesday after lunch at 12:50

-lining up numbers to ass or subtract, students are having a hard time remembering to line up numbers starting with ones place

also students need to practice subtracting from 100 and 1000, this is a big challenge with regrouping

Rounding has also caused some difficulties,

practice rounding these to the nearest hundred

Miss LeRose is reading a book that is 192 pages long. She reads 12 pages each night. How many pages will she have left after 5 nights?

students should know to start with 12 x 5 = 60 OR 12+12+12+12+12=60

Students receive 1 mark for correct answer, 1 mark for showing work (even if they go wrong), and 1 mark for a sentence (for example Miss LeRose will have 132 pages left after 5 nights)

-regrouping 10 tens as 1 hundred
-adding 2 digit numbers
-adding two digit numbers, regrouping when needed
-line up numbers correctly on grid then add (this is to check understanding to line up same place values)
-1 word problem
a larch boat holds 50 students, how many students would 2 boats hold?

The quiz is 1 page, 5 questions,
we will have another single page quiz thursday followed by a single page test Tuesday.
The reason for so many is to help students with anxious feelings about tests, the more we do, and the more short ones will help think of them as less scary since they feel practiced and ready and prepared!

Socials- grid booklet due Thursday – most finished or almost finished in class

Mandarin- study and get ready for test
