Grades 6 & 7 MUSIC Lessons

To the Grade 6 – 7 students of SFX Music Program. Week of April 14 – 22, 2020

I hope that all of you are healthy and well.  I am sure you’re all pretty excited learning online.  Since most of you have been getting assignments online, time for me to throw my hat into the ring so to speak with a number of Music activities.

The following is broken down into 2 sections:  Music Theory and Recorder Practice.  The file below is a Word Document file showing a number of vocabulary that you should start reading and learning about.  I plan to have an online class to go over any questions you may have about the terminology.  Suffice it say, you should be able to understand the what the words mean.

The 2nd section is Recorder practice.  As stated in a previous announcement, all students that attend the SFX Music program in Grades 6 & 7 must have a recorder to play on.  If you have misplaced your recorder, it is the responsibility of the parent to buy another recorder.  My suggestion would be to go to Long and McQuade Music stores.  The stores have curbside pick up and you can order instruments online.

The following downloads are the actual music practice sheets focusing on the Lower Register of the recorder.  That means both hands and all fingers will be used to play the instrument. The others are a number of sheets showing finger notation in order to help you remember to both recognize the note on a staff, but also how to play it on the recorder.

The following YouTube videos are linked to the Lower Register Practice and Practicing the C Scale

Have fun playing!  JESUS IS RISEN!!!  INDEED HE HAS RISEN!!
